After his ninth unsuccessful attempt on his own life, a young man outsources his suicide to an ageing assassin. "If you're serious about ending it, you need professional help" It's rare you get laugh-out-loud British Independent Comedies in the cinema, but that's exactly what Dead in A Week is. The director does a really great job of delivering big laughs with sensitive material. The performances are brilliant across the board with Christopher Eccleston's sweary head-of-the-guild-of-assassins especially memorable. The older couple steal the show at the climax with some heartfelt moments. The film takes a comic look at our sense of purpose in life. It reminded me of In Bruges and Fargo and we don't see many films like that these days - I thought is was great!
