Tojil fight - 7/22/2013

I don't know how many have looked at any of these posted videos but it does help to get a good idea is needed during Tojil.

As you can see at this part of the video, they completely rebuff at the corner right before Tojil's room for a few minutes. Doing a full alliance swap with BRD 1hr + extended duration songs and rolls by CORs. They also have 1 of the SCH's 1hr at the beginning to Embrava everyone.

To start and very important if you look around the 32 min mark. The PLD pulls Tojil and any adds that link. Everything links with Tojil. DD's voke Tojil and the PLD sacks himself strategically at the beginning of the tunnel in Twilight. This will allow him to eventually get up when the adds move back. Very important so you don't have random adds running around during Tojil.

If the PLD messes this pull up. Tojil is slept and kill the adds. You do not want your supports messing with these adds. They need to be removing blaze spikes, silencing, stunning and curing. Not juggling slept adds which are accruing enmity from mages while slept.

GEO's are alternating using 1hr'd Geo-Frailty and Indi-Focus from the start.

The same SCH who Embrava'd everyone has unlimited strategems for at least 2 more mins. So they should be just fine leading the fight in solo stuns. Allowing the other SCH to be supporting others and removing the aura.

Once their 1hr runs out, they signal the other SCH who 1hrs. The solo stun SCH still should have a few strategems for the next 5 stuns. This gives enough time for the second SCH to reapply Embrava to the alliance. The other SCH then takes over solo stunning with unlimited strategems. Once 1hr wears. They just go to stun order.

The SCH's, GEO's and RDM are standing in Indi-Focus for the magic accuracy boost. RDM spams the hell out of enfeebling magic. Constantly reapplying silence, dia, gravity II, everything it can throw at Tojil. He is almost immune to nothing, he can even be slept. MNKs are popping formless and hundred fists. COR's are rotating but after the initial zerg, they Wild Card the party they are in.

Angon is being constantly reapplied when possible. If the wyvern dies during the initial zerg, do not resummon until Angon wears. Then resummon and immediately 1hr. Use this to do defense down jumps. Back to Angon when this wears off.

During the battle bards need to paying attention to every Blistering Roar and Batholithic Shell that is done by Tojil and using Finale immediately. Basically the only 2 buffs it has. RDM is using dispel but it's 5 separate buffs to dispel on Batholithic Shell. Two rounds of dispels will eliminate RDM spamming dispel. COR's need to keep quick draws to enhance Dia full time.

Under 25% which Hand-to-Hand will shine, stop rotating.

Thanks for making it clear to the others about how much needs to be dispelled on him. As those 5~8 seconds in between casts can be a lot of damage given to the DD, as the spikes are 2nd ~ 3rd thing to get dispelled.

Yeah, sure. It's not really fair. 5 buffs every time he uses that move is a lot for 1 person.

Should both CORs be using Light Shot, in rotation every 22-23 seconds, to enhance Dia III?

Not necessary. Sorry, that's a misunderstanding on my part. Quick Draw boost to enfeebles doesn't stack from the testing that has been going with it so far.

Dia 3, then light shot = changes to Dia 4, light shot again = no effect

So only one COR needs to do this. No idea if COR can affect GEO enfeebles. Someone would have to test that in Ballista or Monstrosity in November.

If anything I would say 1 COR delegated to maintaining Light Shot on Dia 3. I'd say whoever has the worst MAB set. The other COR can do pure damage. Given how long the recast is I'd prefer if COR's didn't have to sleep mobs and dispel. Their damage especially in taking down Tojil's aura and helping on Kurma is more beneficial in my opinion.

Edit:

While I understood the Light Shot > Dia III relationship, I was not 100% clear if you perpetuate an enhanced Dia effect with constant Light Shots or if it had to be "re-shot" with each application of Dia III. So, onto the other question I have, would it be beneficial for CORs to actually apply Dark Shot to help with dispels?

Flame Cloak on: Attack Down + Burn aura, AoE Weakness Move (Incinerating Lahar), and access to Dispelga and higher tier AoE spells.

Flame Cloak off: Access to AoE Full Dispel (Volcanic Stasis)

Some choose to keep it on and deal with the chance of aoe weakness and attack down + burn. Some take it off.

Personally as annoying as full dispel sounds. It has access to more TP moves with the cloak off. Meaning the likelihood of seeing it is lower than seeing Lahar.

That's my two cents. But either way stunning and silencing is going to be the bread and butter of Tojil survival.

Morimar NM 1-5+Tojil. JP PUG killed in 22 mins. 10/6/13

Differences I've seen from what we do vs. this recent video:

Pulling/Holding
While they got lucky as to where the NMs are in some of their pulls. Having a PLD doing all the pulls eliminates the chaos we've had with who is going to pull and having the Bard survive it. We had a PLD before but they were usually interrupted or killed before safely pulling Tojil away. (slept, bound, petrified, etc.)

Invincible + Fealty + Rampart with new M.evasion armor should be more than enough to be completely immune for 1 minute and should be activated right before running in to pull. Plenty of time for a RDM to pull Tojil away with ES+Silence so we aren't surprised by something such as Sleepga.

Rotations
These have moved pretty slowly. Part of this issue is having pick up BRDs and CORs. The other part is timing. COR needs longer to get rolls up and their buffs last longer. BRD is the opposite. Having the COR's start their rolls first and swap should be taken into account. Having the BRD swap after COR's are in their second PT. With correct merits/gear most of these songs should be near instant cast and can easily catch up.

I just don't think we're taking this seriously enough. It's time to get old skule.
Observations:
We are getting to Tojil with plenty of time, the lack of stuns is killing us
We should seed our alliance with LS members in key spots,
We should take 4 mnks with no more than 2 in each party
The CORS should be hasting both the MNKs in their party
The BRDS should be back up healing/ tossing out curaga II near end of Tojil and Eft
Both the BRDs and CORs need to sub WHM for hastes, erase, stona, curaga
PLD RDM RDM GEO SCH (main stun) (BLM or SCH back-up stun)
MNK MNK SAM WHM BRD COR
MNK MNK DRG WHM BRD COR
wtf happened to food and why aren't we eating any? I saw a few, there should be 18 foods eaten for Tojil
Every DD should have a stack of remedy and a dozen HI-Pots macroed
Icarus wing for DD
Everyone should keep poison up on Tojil
Party leaders of the 2 brd parties must make invite macros /pcmd add Name for the BRDs only, don't rotate the CORS. On Cue BRD Nightengale, Troubador,SV, songs, drop then Clarion Call a Madrigal, drop back and pop 2 ballads for the WHM. Elegy will stick, Lightning Threnody.
One of the BRDS needs to be a LS member and needs to lead the other BRD and the CORs
THE #1THING WE NEED TO WIN IS STUN We miss, we lose, do over.
THE #2THING WE NEED TO WIN IS STUN
THE #3 THING WE NEED TO WIN IS DISPEL, DISPEL, DISPEL
GEO use Indi-Focus and GEO-Malaise on Tojil
We have plenty of power, we're getting to the boss in plenty of time.
We should be using a voice chat of any sort, skype, is free with apps for smart phones. Why aren't we?

I agree on most Shadechaos has said. Main problems we have atm is stun, healing, our brd and the way we pull. We do not have relic and enp brd that hurt our attack power alot. I killed Tojil over 100 times, i can see some problem we are having. Some things that can help us win without a relic/emp brd will be on what job we bring in and what ws to use as well. Normally ppl bring 4 mnk, 1 drg and 1 sam as dd.

Currently our damage started slow down around 60% on piercing damage when brd's 1hr songs gone.

100%-75% HP: Takes reduced physical damage (-50%)
MNK HF + FS
mages help on magic damage

74%-50% HP: Takes increased piercing damage (+100%)
Sam use Apex Arrow and not GK ws
Drg polearm damage
Drk on scythe

49%-25% HP: Takes increased slashing damage (+100%)
Sam on GK ws,

<25% HP: Takes increased blunt damage (+100%)
mnk h2h
